This was an embarrassing defeat. I was so hyped up for this AFC match up with the defending Super Bowl Champions because last week we looked really good and I was convinced we were a team to be reckoned with this year, especially with the horrendous start from our next foe, Indianapolis Colts. I still have confidence moving forward and I know Bortles will continue to improve as the season progresses. It is vital that our team continues to prepare every week and focus on one thing, that is, the next opponent. Nothing good comes from dwelling from the past. There is not much you can do but move past it and concentrate on improving.
Getting back to the game, It is going to be hard to spotlight the playing of my Jaguars but I can always find a shining light in the darkest of places. The 59-yard catch by Allen Hurns from Blake Bortles was the biggest thrill of the game for me and at the time, I was foreseeing a huge comeback. At the same time, many New England fans were leaving to beat the traffic. After that huge play it was 30-10 mid way thru the third.
Blake Bortles completed 17 of 33 pass attempts for a total of 242 yards. Bortles had two touchdowns passes for his second consecutyive game with multiple touchdown passes. Allen Robinson had nine grabs for 68 yards and the running attack was obsolete due to playing catch up the entire game.
Our defense really took a step backwards during this game. New England is such an elite team. We cannot help them by committing penalties. Jacksonville was penalized seven times for a total of 114 yards,. Two huge penalties cost the Jags points and gave them to New England.
Our next game is versus division rival, Indianapolis Colts. I will not be posting a preview of the game. I am going out of town for business but I will post a review of the game sometime next week. LETS GO JAGS!
